Today is a splendid day.

I didn't sleep so well last night, but I did get up and get myself to the gym this morning, which always makes me feel like I've accomplished a lot even before most people get up. Then I decided to go to a coffeeshop for breakfast because I'm lazy like that and I ran into R and we got to talk shop about books and architecture and such. I'm reading The Geography of Nowhere, by James Howard Kuntsler, which is all about the history of architecture and urban planning in the U.S.. It's a good book so far, if you're interested in knowing how U.S. cities ended up the way they did. Then, as I was walking to school, I got to see my bike shop crush who said, "Hey! How're you doing?" as he was wheeling out some bikes and I said "Great!" and then I kept going because I'm a dork and it was early in the morning. But I'm wearing my favorite skirt and my shiny shoes, so life is good.

Oh, and...

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean last night. ARRRRRRRGH, MATEY.

I was a bit overstimulated by the end. It was a strange feeling. Srsly.

I also wore the skirt that I made yesterday. I wore it with a top that didn't quite match, but I felt like a rock star anyway.

And a cow orker from tutoring got in touch with me, which reminded me of how much I enjoyed tutoring. I miss that place. It was nice to feel like I could have such a direct a positive impact on students' lives. Teaching is fun, but different, because it involves so much more crowd control.
