White poppy seeds would also be delicious in sweet baked goods! I do think that toasting them and then grinding them in a burr grinder releases the most fantastic flavor. I read somewhere that it may help to grind them along with some sugar, because the poppy seeds by themselves release oil and become sticky.

I will have to pass along the word to R! :^)
