Fragmentation

A challenging aspect of conferences, for me: If I go to a lot of irrelevant talks, I have a hard time sitting there because of limits to my ability to focus and remember things. But if I don't sit through those talks, I wind up with odd chunks of time. Actually, the feeling is similar to that sense of constant readiness needed for the circadian metabolism project.

I'm managing to push out a couple of job applications, at least, and had an excellent, productive conversation with my PhD advisor about the Discussion section for the Leafcutter Manuscript of Doom. I'm going to put as much effort as I can into finishing it.
