For various reasons, I've been looking through old bookmarked webpages recently. I hardly use bookmarks nowadays - I either already know the URL of the site of interest, or I try to find it again via search engine. Given the algorithms used by search engines, this doesn't always work well. I note that because I suspect the same is true for many people.

I'm about to finally make a sewing machine purchase, the Janome HD1000, which is apparently the contemporary replacement for the Janome Threadbanger. The Threadbanger was adopted by a bunch of creative people as their machine of choice for making all kinds of cool things, and threadbanger.com was something of an early version of Instructables. Now it appears to have been replaced by an annoying-looking YouTube channel.

However, while browsing through that set of old bookmarks, I also wound up revisiting the Life Without Plastic Store. It appears to be alive and well, and it was satisfying to discover that.
